Lucas, Kansas – S.P. Dinsmoor’s Garden of Eden
Posted by Teddy Osuch on July 12, 2012
20APR2012 – A civil war vet named S.P. Dinsmoor built a “log cabin” (actually made of limestone logs) in Lucas which he named the “Garden of Eden” in 1905. He then spent his remaining years working on his garden which contains over 200 concrete sculptures. The Lucas area is beautiful and the garden is worth seeing.

Was this one of the famed stops on the Zanzi (sp?) tour? Looking at your ‘date’ on this guy, his stuff can now officially be considered antique outsider art — is that a new genre?! ;-D

Don’t know if prof Zanzi toured this one. I think he went to Central IL and found a concrete/broken glass bottle house. Antique or not its outsider art. Love, love
